Dogs required for filming. I am still looking for a couple of small dogs for filming in Kent in August. What I'd really love to find is a Phalène type Papillon - that is a Papillon with drop ears rather than the signature (and reason for the name) prick ears that look like a butterfly. However I'd be more than happy with just one pretty, regular Papillon. It is for a sequence looking at dogs in the Tudor court. 16th century paintings are full of images of these little toy spaniels. There was no such thing as official breeds then and types have changed a little but you can recognize the face of these little dogs across the centuries. So a similar looking mongrel would also be fine.No costume required - just bring along as a modern day owner to show off your dog. Possibly at Hever Castle morning only. Come on hive-mind - help me find this pooch. Thank you. I'm also still looking for a Bichon. ... See MoreSee Less
The cost of veterinary care for dogs is always so shocking and when you have an emergency beyond your current resources, it can be devastating. I did not know this person previously but they very kindly responded to my facebook call for small dogs to feature as Chamber Dogs in a documentary I'm about to make about 'Dogs of the Tudors'. Now she is facing this heart-breaking situation with her dog, so it seems like the least I can do is help to spread the word for her cause. The way these things work is that just a little from lots of people does the trick. We can't all alleviate all the suffering in the word every day but every so often we can make a difference. Good luck Ellé and get well soon Cleo.Meanwhile I'm still on the lookout for a Bichon, a Maltese and a Papillon in the Edenbridge/ Hever Castle area for filming n August. ... See MoreSee Less
