I need a Josephine and I need a Pug. Who can help??? I am hoping to do a pick-up shoot for one of my dog’s films later in October. It will be for about an hour, in Oxford, to get some shots of Josephine Beaharnais (subsequently Mrs Bonaparte) and her Pug. When she was briefly imprisoned during the Reign of Terror, she was visited daily by her little dog , who carried secret messages in his collar to and from her children. So is there anyone who could play Josephine (with an appropriate dress), who might be interested? Josephine was 30 at the time but we don’t have to be too rigid – anyone 20 – 40 with dark hair would be fine. It would be in the Debtor’s Towers at the old Oxford Jail – between around 8.30 am and when they open at 10 am. Obviously I ALSO need a Pug. If the Josephine and dog came in one package that would be perfect but really I’m just hoping someone will be have a little Pug and be happy to bring him/her along. We’d also want to take some beauty shots of the dog, which we could let you have. Please spread the word – Thanks. ... See MoreSee Less
A wonderful sight from filming the other day. For those of you who have nor read my book about dogs (why not?) Dalmatians were Coach Dogs - their function was to guard coach, horses, passengers and valuables. They usually ran behind brcause space on board was at a premium but when the passengers got off at an Inn, they would station themselves on the vehicle to keep watch. On the road again today for more filming this week, making two films about dogs for History Hit. The first is ‘Dogs of the Tudors’ and the second , in which this sequence features covers the ling 18th century. ... See MoreSee Less
